HOW TO PREPARE YOUR QUILT

Remove any loose threads and check for loose seams.  

Be sure your quilt top is pressed and square, and that all seams are pressed flat.

Be sure your backing has straight edges on all four sides.

Both the backing and batting need to be 8" larger than the quilt top - 8" wider AND 8" longer.  So, 4" on each side, please. ;-)

Do not pin or baste the layers together. Provide the top, batting, and backing folded as separate pieces.

If you have a pieced border (such as piano keys,) please baste around the edges to prevent it from stretching during quilting.

If your top has any appliqué, please make sure that all pieces are securely attached.

Please remove any embellishments like buttons, beads, sequins, etc.
